The offseason of the 2025 NFL is now in full swing, the Super Bowl in the rear view and the scouting combine. However, there is still a lot to come, because the 32 teams are preparing for the annual mixture of veteran players via the free agency and the trades. And that does not represent the draft of April, when a swarm of other prospects will enter the professional scene which seeks to carve out roles.

From now
Commercial negotiation: All NFL teams are authorized to discuss and / or accept any job involving players or draft choices. However, if a business includes players on existing contracts, it cannot be finalized and processed before the start of the league year in March (see below).
March 4
Franchise tag deadline: At 4 p.m., HE, the teams are no longer allowed to apply the franchise or the transition tag to eligible players. Players who have been tagged, however, do not yet have to sign their contract.
2025 NFL Libre Agence: The League publishes numbers for franchise and transition labels.

March 10
The negotiation period of free agents begins: From 12 noon, all NFL teams can contact and negotiate potential contracts with certified agents of players with expired contracts. The agreements can be concluded in principle, but they cannot be officially signed.
March 12
New year of league: At 4 p.m. HE, the 2025 off -season officially begins, which means that all negotiated contracts or transactions can be finalized and treated. Any free agent or commercial discussions that start after this point can be finalized immediately.
March 30-April 2
League annual meeting: The owners of the NFL will meet in Palm Beach, Florida, to discuss changes of the proposed rules and other League issues.
April 7
The intersane programming begins: The NFL teams who hired a new head coach – the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots, New Orleans and New York Jets – are eligible for spring training.
April 18
Limited free agent date: All players without contract as restricted free agents (three NFL seasons or less) must sign an offer received by their respective teams or remain free agents.
April 21
The intersane programming is developing: All NFL teams can start spring training sessions.
April 24 to 26
2025 NFL draft:: The teams will select university prospects in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
May 1st
Fifth year option deadline: The NFL teams wishing to exercise the fifth year option integrated into the contracts for first -round recovery choices in 2022 must do so on this date.
May 2
The Recruit Minicamps begin: From now on, the NFL teams are able to hold a three-day mini-camp (from Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday) during one of the two weekends after the draft.
May 20-21
Spring League meeting: The owners of the NFL will meet to discuss League issues in the Minneapolis region.
July 15
Date of franchise tag extension: Teams wishing to sign long -term long -term contract extensions must do so at 4 p.m., or the said players will have to play under the tag in 2025.
Mid-July
Open training camps: NFL teams can start their summer training camps, first for recruits, then for veterans, in preparation for the pre-season and regular season of 2025.
