Players are on their way to spring training camps in Arizona and Florida and launchers and sensors must officially present themselves in next week. Shortly after, the exhibition matches will be underway, and shortly, it will be the day of the 2025 opening (Thursday March 27).
While clubs take their own determination at the moment when their players are expected to arrive for business, these dates are generally in a tight window. The Chicago Cubs and the Los Angeles Dodgers will technically open the season with a set of two games in Japan from March 18 to 19. Unsurprisingly, these are the first two teams of the National League to present themselves, the Cubs appearing on February 9. No other team will report earlier than February 11.
