Chef Mike Macdonald and Seattle Seahawks have their next attacking coordinator.

The Seahawks concluded an agreement on Sunday afternoon to bring Klint Kubiak to fill the post, Ian Rapoport of the NFL network reported. Kubiak spent last season in this role with the Saints of New Orleans.

Macdonald dismissed the attacking coordinator Ryan Grubb after a single season earlier this month. Grubb was hired after led Washington University to the National Championship match when he was in the same position.

The Seahawks have largely struggled under the Grubb watch. They went 10-7 last season – which is their best record since the 2020 campaign – but missed the playoffs for a second consecutive season. Seattle ranked 21 in offensive score with 20 points per competition and 28th on the ground with 95.7 yards per game.

Kubiak will intervene in his third position as an attacking coordinator in the League. He held this position briefly with the Vikings of Minnesota in 2021, losing this concert when head coach Mike Zimmer was dismissed. He worked as deputy coach of the 49ers of Denver Broncos and San Francisco before landing in New Orleans. The saints then pulled the head coach Dennis Allen during the season, and the organization is still looking for a replacement. This has put Kubiak’s work in danger, and he has been interviewing from the League since.

While the saints come out of a terrible campaign, it is difficult to put much of this blame on the shoulders of Kubiak. The team went 5-12, which included a brutal sequence of seven consecutive defeats. The saints have treated several major injuries, one of them in the starting quarter of Derek Carr.

Although he has a limited experience in the role and that none of his first two stays went well, Macdonald believes that Kubiak can intervene and help the quarter-Arrière Geno Smith and the Seattle offensive with the playoffs.
