Oba Femi is about to defend his NXT championship at Vengeance Day, against not one, but two stars on the main list. FEMI published the challenge to the former champions of the WWE Tag A-Town Down Under in a grayson Waller effect segment on “WWE NXT”, where Waller and Austin Theory tried to reduce the achievements of FEMI on the development brand. Waller told Femi that he was on “NXT” to see if the media threw was real with the champion.
An enraged FEMI started to challenge Waller, when the director general of “NXT” Ava came out to spread Fmi for trying to create a match again by himself. Former champion Trick Williams struck music, and he started Femi in the middle of the ring. Williams presented the theory and Waller, and Femi released Williams to end the segment.
Later in the night, when Femi spoke at Ava behind the scenes, she told him that he would have his defense of the title at revenge day. She clearly told Femi that he would defend his title in a match at Triple Threate, against Waller and the theory, but there was no mention of Williams, who continued to be disqualified in his match against Wes Lee.
