Many fans know that Bron Breakker is a second generation WWE star, his father Rick Steiner was a great success as a team next to his brother, Scott Steiner. What is not as well known for Breakker is that he had a brief career in the NFL before becoming a professional wrestler. Appear on “The Pacman Jones Show,” Breakker looked back on his time as a football player and discussed sharing the training field with one of the best players today.
“I was in the combined training camp with Jalen Hurts,” said Breakker.
Hurts is now a Super Bowl MVP, helping the Eagles to Philadelphia to prevent the Kansas City Chiefs from winning their third consecutive league championship. While the interview with Breakker took place before the Super Bowl, his time on the field with Hurts clearly left an impression on the wrestler, the two men being prepared for the combine harvester by the performance coach Chip Smith .
The subject of the Breakker training with Hurts was caused while Breakker discussed his time on the Baltimore Ravens. The team signed him as a rear not drafted before the 2020 season, but his speed convinced the coaches he should train with “skills” players, such as runners.
“I was there with JK (Dobbins), Justice Hill and Gus Edwards,” continued Breakker. “It was cool.”
Although it apparently proved to be promising, Breakker was released by the Ravens in August 2020, about a month before the start of the season. A few months later, Breakker made his debut as a professional wrestler and was signed with a development contract with WWE shortly after that. After a very successful race on “WWE NXT”, Breakker is now on the main list and in the middle of his second reign with the WWE intercontinental championship.
