British tennis star Emma Raducanu insisted that she would be fine because she thanked fans for their support for a “difficult experience” during the Dubai WTA 1000 event where she was targeted by a man displaying “fixed behavior”. The 22-year-old man was down 2-0 in the first set of a defeat in the second round against Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic on Tuesday when she approached the referee, then briefly took refuge behind her chair . The WTA said that it banned the man involved after approaching Raducanu in a public zone on Monday where he showed “fixed behavior” before taking a seat on the field in the first lines for his match on Tuesday.
He was escorted with Muchova rushing to comfort her before the game resumed.
Raducanu, reflecting on the incident in an article in his Instagram flow, said on Wednesday: “Thank you for the support messages.
“Difficult experience yesterday, but I will be well and proud of the way I came back and I competed despite what happened at the start of the match.
“Thanks to Karolina for being a big sport and good luck to her for the rest of the tournament.”
