It took a little while, but Jesse “The Body” Ventura is back in the WWE fold, armed with a WWE Legend contract and even making commentary appearances for the promotion, including working on the Saturday Night Main Event last weekend. The former Minnesota governor, however, indicated that he is ready to become more involved and is particularly eager to provide advice to some of the younger talents in wrestling today.
During an appearance on “Broken open radio” just a day before calling Saturday Night’s Main Event, Ventura was asked what he was looking to educate young wrestling talent on. Ventura wants young wrestlers, especially those who enjoy the modern style of wrestling, to learn a lesson he himself learned when his career was ended prematurely due to blood clot issues.
“One of the things I’m going to teach them is to ‘look forward,’” Ventura said. “And especially in wrestling today because what they’re doing today, I like to watch it and laugh a little bit. Because there was the American style of wrestling, and then there was the American style of wrestling. Mexican wrestling, lucha libre Well, we all thought the American style would eventually take over?
“Um, lucha libre has taken over, because these guys are doing aerial stuff today like Mexican wrestling yesterday. And that’s one of the reasons why my favorite wrestler is Dominik. But he part… I just see that the trend is for these high-level wrestlers to have flying moves and very dangerous moves. And so, I want to instill in young wrestlers: “Remember, there is life afterward.” struggle and remember that you don’t want to kill yourself now and not know there’s a future for you later.'”
