Alabama basketball is without Derrion Reid until further notice.
The freshman was seen in street clothes before Sunday’s game against South Dakota State at Coleman Coliseum with a boot on his right foot.
Coach Nate Oats told Crimson Tide Sports Network before the contest that Reid “injured his ankle” during practice and was out.
Although Oats did not specify how long Reid would be out, or when he would return, Next Round Live posted on that it was “not a long-term prognosis”.

Pepperdine transfer Houston Mallette, who Oats reported was ill, was also unavailable against the Jackrabbits.
Reid, a five-star McDonald’s All-American recruit, is one of three 2024 freshmen for the Crimson Tide along with starter Labaron Philon and redshirt Naas Cunningham.
During the season, Reid was shooting 45.8% for 7.5 points per game while averaging 3.5 rebounds in 12 appearances.
Conference play begins for Alabama basketball on Jan. 4 against Oklahoma at Coleman Coliseum.
