Washington Capitals, Alex Ovechkin, is one of the most announced players of In the NHL history. The legendary striker already has a ton of records on the In the NHL History books, but there is still one to go that could put it in the pantheon of the great of all time.
Ovechkin is about to become the leader in the NHL’s goals, and he can pass the 894 brand from Wayne Gretzky before the end of the season. The capital of the capital has currently 879 career goals, so he must accumulate 16 additional goals in the remaining 28 games of the team in order to exceed the Gretzky record this season.
The 2023-24 campaign turned out to be a mortal for Ovechkin where 31 goals scored, his lowest total in a full season since he scored 32 during the 2012-13 season. Ovechkin only scored 24 goals in 2020-2021, but this season has been shortened due to the Pandemic COVID-19.
