The debut of “WWE Raw” on Netflix is fast approaching, but it looks like an iconic WWE star won’t be making an appearance on the series. Randy Orton was eliminated with a piledriver by Kevin Owens on an episode of “WWE SmackDown” in November, following the brawl that prevented their Crown Jewel match from taking place. According to Dr Chris Featherstone from Sportskeeda on XOrton is currently not expected to be part of the premiere episode of “Raw” on Netflix.
“Many people have inquired about Randy Orton’s status regarding January 6th,” Featherstone wrote. “I have been informed that there are currently no plans for him to be part of the premiere episode of #WWERaw on Netflix.”
Orton and Owens were scheduled to face off in Saudi Arabia as their feud, sparked by Owens believing Orton was siding with Owens’ arch-nemesis, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, continued. Instead of the bell ringing on their grudge match, the opponents brawled around the arena before Owens hit an elbow off a guardrail into the crowd towards Orton. On the next “SmackDown”, Owens performed the banned move and Orton was taken away on a stretcher. “The Viper” has not returned to WWE television since, and Owens hit a package piledriver on Rhodes during Saturday night’s main event, causing a similar scene, with Rhodes also being taken out of the arena on a stretcher . Without Orton or Rhodes to stop him, Owens took the beloved Winged Eagle Championship for himself and declared himself the “real” WWE Champion.
