The Royal Rumble full of last weekend had a lot of surprises, from the return of Alexa Bliss to Jey USO, surprising everyone and winning male rumble. But perhaps the biggest shock coming out of the rumble was the reported frustration of Drew McIntyre after his elimination of the match, where he would have expressed his feelings behind the scenes before storming the arena.
So what caused McIntyre’s troubles? A multitude of things appear. Pwinsider Elite Note that McIntyre was originally supposed to be eliminated from the rumble earlier than him, the plan being for Damian Priest to throw McIntyre while he was trying to eliminate Jey Usto. It was not a little elimination either, with the idea that it launched a program between Priest and McIntyre leading to Wrestlemania.
Instead, the place was delayed by several sequences involving the Knight, including an imply Knight who is carved with Roman Reigns. The delay in elimination was the entry of Logan Paul, who entering the ring immediately started working with Knight, as expected. The last straw would occur when, during this sequence, Knight accidentally collided with McIntyre, USO and Priest while they crossed their own place, which led him worse than envisaged.
This would seem to confirm that Knight is the anonymous talent mentioned in certain reports such as “trying to do without” during the rumble, leading to the frustration of McIntyre and other wrestlers. It remains to be seen that frustration has been postponed to McIntyre, especially since rumors swirl that he will go from “raw” to “Smackdown” after the end of the transfer portal.
