Philadelphia – Brandon Graham didn’t think he was going to play another football match again.
Optimist Graham wanted to return to the Eagles of Philadelphia if it was a possibility, but had to face the realization that his 15th season was going to end with an injury. A triceps torn in late November generally ends a season, no matter how far a team goes to the playoffs.
Not for Graham. He saw a window to return and took advice to the former defensive platform of the Eagles Hollis Thomas, who underwent the same injury that Graham made in 2008 with the Saints of New Orleans. Thomas was actually placed in the injured reserve and excluded the season when he suffered the injury in the training camp. Only, he challenged the chances and returned after being canceled with an injury regulation in September, signed with the saints in November and playing eight games.
If Thomas could do it, Graham too.
“Hollis returned in two and a half months,” said Graham. “I was like” the man, I’m at two and a half (months) at the moment. “”
Graham admitted that the process had been accelerated in the past two weeks knowing that the Eagles had the opportunity to reach the Super bowl. He just wanted to give himself a chance to play, even if the Eagles would not have given him authorization.
The Eagles gave Graham this opportunity by opening his 21 -day training window this week, allowing him to prepare as if he were playing the Super Bowl. Graham was limited in this week’s practice, but the signs indicate that he tends to play.
“Right now, I’m not feeling bad at all,” said Graham. “I feel regular, but you now how it goes. I have to see how it goes (later in the week).”
How will the Eagles make the determination that Graham will happen in the Super Bowl Lix?
“They are them (the coaches) see me every day,” said Graham “really they just want to see if there is a drop or anything. They really want to see what I can do and I think I showed them a little more today.
Graham said on several occasions that the 15th year would be his last season, but opened the door for a potentially return for a 16th year. Is the Super Bowl the final?
“Let’s win,” said Graham with a smile. “So we will talk about it.”
