WWE fans can’t wait to see CM Punk cash in on the favor Paul Heyman owes him for supporting the OG Bloodline at Survivor Series: WarGames last month. Heyman has pulled strings in the past for the benefit of his clients, and with Punk now appearing to have Heyman’s services again, speculation is growing as to what Punk will achieve with Heyman.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray discussed “Burst open” what he sees developing between Punk and Heyman after the victory at WarGames.
“You could play for (Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title at WrestleMania 41). Punk’s real story is that he wanted to main event WrestleMania. Punk said he needed a favor from Paul Heyman said on TV that he wanted to main event WrestleMania,” Ray began.
The veteran star discussed Punk’s frustration at WrestleMania 29 in 2013, where he campaigned hard to main event with The Rock and John Cena, but was instead placed in a match with The Undertaker. Ray admitted that Punk wanted Heyman to help him main event WrestleMania. He sees a potential match between Punk and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, but the two are expected to wrestle when “WWE Raw” debuts on Netflix on Jan. 6.
“Can we defend Punk against Cody at WrestleMania in which Paul Heyman helps CM Punk get there via the Royal Rumble? Absolutely. You can very well connect those dots and Cody Rhodes against CM Punk in the main event – wow. Yes, I’m on board,” Ray said enthusiastically.
