WWE legend Bully Ray discussed the favor CM Punk owes Paul Heyman and how that could potentially come into effect in the coming months. With Royal Rumble around the corner, several WWE stars declared their entrance into the Rumble match, including Punk, who vowed to win the match and achieve his long-awaited dream of mainlining WrestleMania.
Ray, in a recent edition of “Burst open“, suggested a potential storyline for the favor Heyman owes Punk, which could happen if Punk does not win the men’s Royal Rumble match or the Elimination Chamber match. He proposed a storyline in which Roman Reigns wins the match, but Punk asks Heyman to remove Reigns from the spot in his favor.
“Can you imagine if Roman wins the Rumble, and Roman does exactly what he said and faces Cody, and Punk goes to Paul (Heyman) and says, ‘I need you to talk down Roman Reigns from his match and you give it.’ In my opinion.’ Holy shit. You want to talk about intrigue. Paul Heyman stuck between Roman Reigns and CM Punk right before WrestleMania, Roman wins the match. Can you imagine the look on Paul’s face? too much. It’s as if the Godfather is asking for his favor in return.”
Ray thinks Punk asking Heyman to put him in a WrestleMania main event match before Reigns would be booed by the crowd, despite how much he is loved right now.
The WWE Hall of Famer added that if Punk won the Royal Rumble match, the story that Heyman owed him a favor would be “null and void” unless it continued through SummerSlam later this year . He believes the favor story wouldn’t be necessary if “The Second City Saint” won either the Rumble match or the Elimination Chamber.
