Cain Velasquez knows what it takes to be the largest heavy goods vehicle on the planet.
The former double champion of the UFC dominated and played so masterfully at the height of his career, of which he was considered as undoubtedly the greatest talent of all time in the division. At the time, Jon Jones emerged and made his way in the history books of Light Heavyweight, making the fans think how “Bones” got away in a champion against the champion for the “Baddest Man of the planet “.
It was in 2011. Jones finally never made the weight jump before 2023, but he now holds the title of UFC heavy goods vehicles, with the acting champion Tom Aspinall who patiently waits in the wings. The Aspinall of England made comparisons with Velasquez in some respects because of its solid global ensemble.
Velasquez spoke of these comparisons on Tuesday on “The Ariel Helwani Show”.
“What he did, great, of course,” said Velasquez about Aspinall. “World champion, incredible. He beat hard to get there. I see what you say (on similarities with me), with regard to body type, movement, speed, strike, force Who he has.
“For me, these are the matches. The matches are what makes everything interesting.”
Jones vs aspinall is perhaps the closest alternative to Jones and Velasquez Prime VS Prime Fantasy Association in heavy goods vehicles. Although he struck his twilight in a career at 37, Jones remains as dominant as ever, after recently launched a laundering against the former champion twice stipe Miocic at the UFC 309 in November. Jones finished Miocic with a devastating kick returning to the body around 3.
There is no official date for a fight between Jones and Aspinall in 2025, but if we believe the CEO of the UFC, Dana White, the “100%” match will occur.
While Velasquez praises Aspinall’s impressive work in the UFC so far, he thinks that Jones is still too big for the Briton to climb.
“I don’t think he (Bat Jones),” said Velasquez about Aspinall. “I just look at him, I see his pattern a little, and his shot – the way he arrives and strikes. I think Jon sees him too. I think that with that, just because, again, Jon, he studied , he studies, man.
“Everyone has a reason, right? There is a reason for combat,” continued Velasquez. “Some people disguise it better than others. The simple fact is the way Tom enters and fights, he has a model that is a little easier to find. He enters and strikes. And I think you know what We speak – a lot of things come with that.
Velasquez, 42, retired as a competitor in 2019 after a difficult 26 -second defeat against Francis Ngannou, but he remained as much an Incontour in San Jose, American Kickboxing Academy (AKA).
Velasquez’s next order in MMA is the new World Combat League (GFL), which is launching next April. The promotion recently announced that Velasquez will serve as a team leader alongside his longtime head coach Javier Mendez.
Velasquez revealed Tuesday that the duo will run the GFL team from Dubai in 2025.
“The great thing about the aspect of the team team is when the guys accumulate and again when they have a regular season,” said Velasquez.
“(It is) when they learn from each other. The next fight is something different. Perhaps the other guy (who lost at first) gets victory., It continues to become More and more.
“You will see the guys really evolve and learn from this particular fight. This is what has always interested me when we return, as (amateur) the fight, or we return to other team sports – that,, Where the teams see each other again and again, there is a feeling of evolution, “continued Velasquez.
“It is who can make the adjustments, improve, then show it when the time comes. Thus, the team, but also the competition where guys can compete in each other.”
Before Velasquez can focus entirely on his GFL tasks, he must manage certain personal questions.
The Form Ufc Champ Was Involved in A incident in 2022, During Which He Allegedly Hurged in A High-Spi chase with Harry Goularte, who is accused of molesing A 4-Year-Old Child on “Multiple Occasions” who Has Sished Velasquez’s son. Velasquez would have pulled a handgun in a car carrying Goularte during the pursuit, causing injuries not threatening life to the stepfather of Goulate, Paul Bender.
Consequently, Velasquez faces accusations of attempted murder (a chef), pulling on a motor vehicle or an airplane (a chef), an assault with a firearm (three counts), an assault with A fatal weapon (three counts), voluntarily unloads a firearm from a vehicle (a count) and carrying a firearm loaded with the intention of committing a crime (a count).
Velasquez did not argue any competitions for all accusations as his case is progressing. The former UFC heavyweight champion will attend a conviction on January 24, by coincidence on the same day as GFL’s draft in 2025. If he is found guilty, Velasquez could incur up to 20 years in prison. He has not been in prison on bail since November 2022.
Whatever the situation, Velasquez is always positive.
“We will see in a way what is happening,” said Velasquez. “I do my best with everything I do with regard to work. We will just see how this date works.
“I am lucky to be here. I love life, I like growth, I like everyone around me. Growing up. I love that I can always do what I can do. So then Just that I ‘M here, I am always grateful for everything.
