Chelsea Green is enjoying her first-ever WWE Championship run as the first United States Women’s Champion, but it wasn’t long ago that she was fighting her way to the top. Even before her first appearance in the promotion, she tried to break through through “Tough Enough.”
During an interview with “Classic wrestling“, Green looks back on his time on the game show.
“I did terribly well,” Green recalled. “It only took me ten years to get retaliation, but it’s all good.”
The champion described what it was like to compete on “Tough Enough” and how incredible her fellow competitors were, both in the ring and in their appearance. Green noted that she learned a lot during her time on “Tough Enough” and jokingly listed things like lip filler and Botox among the things women taught her, which she claims that Canadian women did not know.
“They had this kind of ‘je ne sais quoi’ about them, they were so much more grown-up in America,” Green said. “So I learned a lot from that experience, but I knew, I knew that while I was there, these girls are supposed to be stars. So I wasn’t surprised when I left and a number of them have been recalled.”
The WWE star further noted that the experience opened her eyes to being an adult. After her appearance on “Tough Enough”, Green wrestled for the likes of TNA, Lucha Underground and Ring of Honor, before being signed to WWE, where she has now truly made her mark.
