The start of the season for Major League Soccer is fast approaching on Saturday, February 22 will see the 30th kick. The teams will seek to dislodge the galaxy as reign champions of the MLS Cup, but with so many changes around the league such as Jesus Ferriera in Seattle, Lucho Acosta at FC Dallas and Evander at FC Cincinnati, which teams can be Considered as contenders for the MLS Cup?
We are going to take a look at five teams that should be taken into account, classified:
5. Fire of Chicago
Given the parity around the league, you cannot look at who can win the league without including a potential aberrant value and it is Chicago’s fire. Under the former coach of the US national team Gregg Berhalter, they had an excellent off -season adding to Jack Elliott to anchor the defense with Jonathan Bamba and Philip Zinckerkenagel to improve the attack. Already a strong attacker in Hugo Cuypers, it’s a side to look at as a good start could see fire strengthen confidence. There are concerns after the first XI, but with the team that only participates in the US Open Cup, some of the additional competitions are also missing that other teams will have to balance.
4. The galaxy
Riqui Puig can be injured to start the season and Dejan Jveljic left for Sporting Kansas City, but that does not mean that the attack on the galaxy is not yet among the best in the league. Marco Reus will have to provide more, but to Gabriel Pec and Joseph Paintsil, this team will have a lot of attack to take up any challenge on their way. Defensively, there will be questions, but when the galaxy has already proven that defense does not matter if you can surpass everyone, there is no reason to doubt them. Their Cross-Ville Lafc rivals must also be taken into account, but the problem is that LAFC will need more Denis Bouanga this season than ever before and only time will say how their new midfielders.
3. FC Cincinnati
By losing Acosta, Cincinnati showed that they could quickly rebuild Kevin Denkey and Evander. Evander was already one of the best attackers of MLS Last Seston becoming a MVP finalist with the Timbers of Portland. Now, leading the attack on Cincinatti while Miles Robinson anchors the defense, it is not a team that will be worse than last season. Their games can take time to frost, but as so many teams make the MLS qualifying series, no one will want to see the Pat Noonan team later in the season they met.
2. SENDEURS DE SEATTLE
Already a balanced side, the Sounders will seek to spend an entirely healthy season of the designated player Pedro de la Vega. After joining Lanus, the attacker appeared in 20 games last season scoring one goal and helping another. Although it is certainly less production than what the Sounders expected, this season is an opportunity for a rebound, especially since there is more support in the attack around him. Given the already solid Sounders and a good coaching configuration, it is a team that could take place.
1. Inter Miami
You could write Lionel Messi and stop there, but there is of course more in this Miami team than Argentinian. The herons have other players who will play a big role in their fate this Seaon and if Federico Redondo and Benjamin Cremaschi take steps forward while the Fafa Picault continues to score as he did in his career, it will give to Miami plus a way to navigate the many competitions in which they participate. Being able to play without Sergio Busquets, who will need rest like all veterans, will always be critical, but herons are a dangerous and safe team of the contenders.
