Argentina Youth International Claudio Echeverri Completed its permanent move to Manchester City for more than a year after signing for English champions before staying in River Plate on loan.
The 19 -year -old will add more young energy to a sick city team that has been refreshed in the winter transfer window with the arrival of five players.
Echeverri, an attacking midfielder, played in the South American Under-20 Championship, where he scored six goals in nine games for Argentina to be the second top scorer in the tournament.
He signed for City in January 2024 but played to river in the past year as part of the agreement.
The director of football of the city, Txiki Begiristain, described Alderri as “one of the best talents to emerge from South America in recent years”.
“Football was my life and my dream was to play for one of the best teams in Europe. Today, I am closer to this dream,” said Echeverri.
“Manchester City is one of the best world teams. Not only do they win trophies, but they play the game so beautiful.”
Echeverri signed a contract until 2028 and will be part of the city team for the rest of the season.
City spent more than $ 200 million during the recent winter transfer window on five players – the midfielder Nico Gonzalezdefenders Abdukodir Khusanov,, Vitor Reis and Christian McFarlane, and Egypt forward Omar Marmoush.
