Karan wins ITF Mumbai quarters
Karan Singh defeated Olympian Vishnu Vardhan 7-6 (6), 6-2 in the quarter-finals of the $25,000 ITF men’s tennis tournament at the GA Ranade Complex on Friday.
In the semi-final, Karan will face second seed and last tournament champion Dalibor Svrcina of the Czech Republic.
The other semi-final will pit top seed Khumoyun Sultanov against Bogdan Bobrov.
In the doubles semi-final, Aryan Shah, partnering American Adhithya Ganesan, eliminated top seeds Egor Agafonov and Bogdan Bobrov 7-6 (0), 6-1. The duo will face second seeds SD Prajwal Dev and Adil Kalyanpur in the final.

Nazneen Rahman won a triple crown in the over-45 section of the ITF Masters tennis tournament at the Assam Tennis Complex.
Nazneen beat Sanchita Sarma 6-1, 6-1 in the singles final. She won the women’s doubles with Bhagya Ayyavoo and the mixed doubles title with Dilip Mohanty.
Dilip also won the men’s over-45 singles title and the doubles title with Shahnawaz Zaffar.

Vimal Arion Achievers win final league matchSir Pratap Singh Cup
Chris Mackenzie scored four goals to guide the Vimal Arion Achievers to a 6-4 victory over Jindal Panther in the final championship match of the Umaid Bhawan Palace Sir Pratap Singh Cup polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo Ground on Friday.
In the final, which will be played on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the same venue, the Arion Achievers will face Jaipur Delta.

JSW Sports congratulates Paris Games medalists
The Olympic medalists from the Paris Games were congratulated by JSW Sports and each presented an MG Windsor electric car on Friday.
Founder of JSW Sports, Parth Jindal made the presentation to members of the Indian hockey team and rifle shooter Swapnil Kusale.
Two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker, shooter Sarabjot Singh and wrestler Aman Sehrawat could not make it to the event due to various reasons.
JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal had earlier pledged to reward Indian Olympic medalists in Paris.

Hitaashee opens three-shot lead in WPGT Hero Stage 14
In-form golfer Hitaashee Bakshi got off to a good start with a solid five-under 67 in the 14th stop of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Vooty Golf County here on Friday.
Hitaashee, 19, who has won twice this season, made six birdies against one bogey and opened a three-shot lead over Vidhatri Urs and Sneha Singh, who shot 2-under 70 each.
Three players, Khushi Khanijau, Nayanika Sanga and amateur Srihita Mandava, each carded a card under 71 to place tied for fourth. Amateur Srihita also had a hole-in-one at the Par-3 eighth hole.
Hitaashee, the current Order of Heroes leader, opened the week with two birdies and added two more at the seventh and ninth to get to 4 under. On her back, she dropped her only shot of the day at the tenth but made up for it with birdies at 12 and 18 for a card of 67.
Vidhatri made four birdies at the first, fifth, 11th and 12th and had bogeys at the fourth and sixth. Sneha also made four birdies against two bogeys.
There were plenty of birdies as Khushi Khanijau made five birdies, but she also made four bogeys, while Nayanika Sanga also made five birdies2, but she also dropped two bogeys and a double bogey.
Amateur Srihita had an action-packed round with a hole-in-one, three birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey.
Shweta Mansingh (72) finished seventh, while the experienced Amandeep Drall finished with a 2-over 74 despite a double bogey at the Par-4 18th hole.
Ananya Garg, Agrima Manral and Rhea Purvi Saravanan completed the Top-10 with rounds of 76 each.

Rashid Khan moves to second place at Jaipur Open
Two-time international champion, Rashid Khan shot a 9-under 61 in the third round to move into second place with a total of 17-under 193, in the Rs. 1 crore Jaipur Open golf tournament at the Rambagh Golf Club on Friday.
Rashid set the greens ablaze with five birdies on the first five holes, which ultimately saw him jump 10 places from tied for 12th.
“If it hadn’t been for a few birdies that were very close together, I could have gone even lower,” Rashid said.
Arjun Prasad maintained his lead for the third day, with a score of 4-under 66, after leading by three shots overnight.
After two missed putts from short distance that led to bogeys at the ninth and 13th, Arjun birdied the 17th to maintain the lone lead.
“After a superb front nine, I am happy that I was able to continue my momentum on the back nine where I was quite stable despite the birdies drying up,” said Arjun.
Sachin Baisoya (64) and Kshitij Naveed Kaul (65) were tied for third place at 16-under 207, ahead of Milind Soni (195) and Pranav Mardikar (196).

Sarla Fibers to meet Harmony in the final of the National Ranking Bridge Championship
Sarla Fibers will meet Harmony in the summit clash of mixed teams at the National Ranking Bridge Championship after beating their respective opponents in the semi-finals here on Friday.
Sarla Fibers and Hexa Squad engaged in a heated fight in the semi-final. Sarla Fibers combined perfectly in the third and final session, winning 17 imps in the final to finish with 19.5 imps and a place in the summit round.
In contrast, Harmony was in complete control and defeated Jesal by 20 imps. Harmony dominated the second session, winning it with 28 imps, and this helped the duo secure victory and a place in the final.
Meanwhile, the mixed pairs elimination rounds, which saw 59 pairs compete for honours, were dominated by Maneesh Bahuguna and Meenal Thakur, who are at the top.
The tournament is organized under the auspices of the Bridge Federation of India (BFI) and hosted by the Bombay Gymkhana.
