The world champion of Gukesh ended in eighth position after losing against the Grand Maître Maître-Français Alireza Firouzja in the second match of their seventh place in the Grand Chelem Freestyle Chess in Hamburg, Germany on Friday. Gukesh concluded his forgetable campaign in the tournament at the Weissenhaus Resort without a single victory. A day after his remarkable return of a hopeless position to attract the first match against Firouzja on Thursday, the ball was in the Gukesh field to do the white pieces, but clearly, the world champion had lacked steam to lose in 30 movements.

In the last match, Firouzja turned out to be superior and conceded the opportunities presented to him.

Meanwhile, Vincent Keymer won the first edition of the tournament despite his boiled as a recruit. The German winning the first leg about several of his imagined rivals is good news for the sponsors of the event that have started to keep chess connoisseurs in mind.

It is not a secret that Fide, the Apex chess body in the world, does not like failures 960, also known as fischer random failures, or freestyle failures. But that’s it to stay.
