Like his career, opinions on CM Punk can undoubtedly be assimilated to a roller coaster, with a long series of high and low points. This is the case for the WWE renowned temple, Eric Bischoff, who recently talked about his personal and personal reflections on “The Second City Saint” “83 weeks” podcast.
“My opinion on the punk went from neutral to S *** Ty to very impressive,” said Bischoff, “and many things had to do with this match (Wwe Elimination Chamber) that I have just seen a little.”
According to Bischoff, he felt indifferent about Punk during his initial WWE race (2005-2014), simply because he was not exposed to a lot of his overall work. Bischoff noted, however, that he witnessed the punk in action during various public appearances and found himself impressed by the capacity of the former WWE champion to engage with the people around him.
Once Punk joined the whole elite struggle in 2021, Bischoff’s prospect on punk has radically changed when he published some comments on WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, which Bischoff considered “stupid”. In addition, Bischoff was not dazzled by the performance of punk in an AEW ring.
“”Because I did not know his character before, because I did not look (punk), what I saw on Aew made me go ‘huh? I don’t know, Guy looks like S ***. I think I’m in a better shape than it is right now. He seems tired and does not seem really interested, “said Bischoff.” And he would get these big victories against these young guys. I think I remember that he was often positioned, every time I saw him, he is there to give a shot to young people, passing the torch so to speak. This is a bit like the way he was positioned, and each time he won, he would hold this belt (title). It seemed to have just saved the baby from a fire building. Dude, I don’t buy it. I don’t see it. “”
Bischoff arrives at the “Second City Saint”
While Bischoff remains critical of the Punk AEW race, its race after its return from November 2023 to WWE aroused the opposite reaction. To illustrate his new pleasure towards Punk, Bischoff praised his recent meetings with John Cena and Seth Rollins inside the 2025 male elimination chamber.
“It is incredible. His timing is completely different at WWE than in AW,” said Bischoff about Punk. “His ability to emotable in a credible way is absolutely different in WWE.”
Bischoff was also impressed by Punk’s ability to bring out the best of his longtime rival Seth Rollins. In doing so, the former president of WCW thinks Punk has also been raised.
“Not only did he seem good and he did his business very well, but he raised Seth, in my opinion. They all raised himself, it is when you connect with the ball and that he leaves the park in the parking lot. This is what these two did.”
In the middle of the carnage inside the elimination chamber, the quarrel between Rollins and Punk continued while each of them landed their finish on each other. The Punk GTS, followed by an attitude adjustment of Cena, however led to the elimination of Rollins from the competition. A few moments later, Rollins nailed Punk with a stomp, allowing Cena to lock herself in the STF for victory. Punk and Rollins later recovered in a steel cage on “WWE RAW”, with the latter, emerging victorious, gracked with an energetic Yank outside the cage by Roman Reigns.
