Boca Raton – Do not look now but the Atlantic’s male basketball team in Florida is in lace.
The OWLS extended their victory sequence on four games on Monday, occurring at Charlotte 49ers 87-75 in a confrontation of the American sports conference. FAU has won each of its last four games with an average margin of 19.5 points. The OWLS dragged into these matches for only 11:18 a.m. while continuing to climb the AAC ranking, currently on a par with Tulane for fourth.
The 18 points of Kaleb Glenn paved the way to FAU (14-10, 7-4). Kyky Tandy added 17 and Baba Miller filled the statistics sheet with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 3 interceptions and 3 blocks. Robert Braswell led Charlotte (9-16, 2-10) with 20 points.
“To win four in a row, we are incredibly grateful,” said FAU head coach John Jakus. “I’m delighted tonight.”

Here are three take -out dishes of the victory on Monday evening:
Hot Catapults Owls at the fourth consecutive victory
As was the theme during their victories sequence, the OWLS posted an effective shooting shooting, reaching 54% of their goals on the ground and overthrowing 48% of their three -point attempts (12 for 25). They drew at least 50% on the field, and at least 40% beyond the arc in each of the last four games.
Jakus believes that his players are finally comfortable with each other in the offensive, leading to their super efficient fire figures.
“I think that (playing) 20 games together help your feeling,” said Jakus. “Basically, these are good shooters and we continue to tell them that.”
In particular, Tandy found her pace at the conference. Upon entering on Monday, Tandy drew 44% on a three -point range in 10 conference games. He would continue his hot shooting against Charlotte, overthrowing five of his eight 3 -point attempts.
“As I said, Coach gives me the confidence necessary to shoot it, and I’m going to shoot it,” said Tandy. “But I do them now, and I just have to continue.”
Owls Force 16 Revines in the two -digit victory out of 49ers
While things were clicking on offensively for OWLS on Monday, the same could be said for their defensive effort. FAU forced 11 reversals in the first half and 16 in total, to prevent the 49ers from cutting in their advance. The tenacious defense of the OWLS has led to 18 points of these reversals.
Baba Miller and Ken Evans Jr. each had 3 interceptions, Miller adding 3 blocks to his CV. Jakus noted the impact of Miller’s versatility on defense.
“There is this moment when you have to look around and ask you who comes when you play us,” said Jakus. “We didn’t have that (earlier in the season) on a coherent basis, and I think that in the past two weeks, we have found it.”
Several contributors again key to OWLS victory
Florida Atlantic bent her depth during Monday’s victory. Four owls (Glenn, Tandy, Miller, Carroll) each scored two -digit, Leland Walker punctuated the team with 7 assists and six Owls (Carroll, Miller, Evans Jr., Tandy, Glenn, Moretti) overturned a three -point pointer.
“When the lively lights light up, we have a lot of good players who will play,” said Glenn.
Tandy shared the same feeling, noting the wide range of impact players available to the team.
“You don’t know who could arise,” said Tandy. “There are so many good guys in the team, I’m just blessed that we got the victory.”
