TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich wasn’t the only surprise on “WWE NXT” Tuesday night as the show also featured an appearance from “The Role Model” Bayley. Bayley, a former NXT Women’s Champion, specifically faced Roxanne Perez in the final segment.
Last week, Perez lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Giulia. Nonetheless, Perez claimed she elevated the “NXT” women’s division and championship during her 276-day reign, something Giulia won’t be able to do. Additionally, Perez believes the “NXT” women’s division, including Giulia, would be lost without her now. Bayley, however, disagreed.
In an unexpected encounterBayley initially tried to sympathize with Perez, noting that she could grow from this loss. When Perez vehemently refused to listen to her advice, Bayley said the brand’s women’s division would be fine without her, just like it was when Bayley left years ago. The veteran also said that although Perez would be stuck in her own ways, she would be on track for WrestleMania 41 with the WWE Women’s Championship around her waist. As “NXT” went off the air, Perez punched Bayley in the face, prompting the latter to rain down punches in retaliation.
After his loss to Giulia last week, question marks emerged as to the possible path Perez could take next. Given their showdown, it now appears that path could lead her to Bayley’s home on “WWE SmackDown,” where she already wrestled once. Alternatively, Bayley could also work on a program in “NXT,” as many main stars have done over the past couple of years.
