The New York Jets’ 2024 season will be memorable, but for the wrong reasons.

The Jets are a disappointing 3-9 and will likely be without two of their young stars Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. Running back Breece Hall was ruled out with a knee injury Saturday and cornerback Sauce Gardner is doubtful to play. Players given a questionable designation on the injury report rarely play, so the Jets will likely be left without a key player on either side of the ball against the Dolphins. Additionally, top linebacker CJ Mosley is entering injured reserve after an injury-filled season.

Hall, like most of the Jets, had a disappointing season. He fumbled twice last week, losing one, while trying to play through a knee injury. Hall has 692 rushing yards in 12 games this season and has just one 100-yard game. There’s no reason for the Jets to continue playing him when he’s in bad shape, considering they’re out of the playoff race.

Rookie Braelon Allen, an intriguing fourth-round pick, will assume the role of the Jets’ primary guard. He has 240 yards on 67 carries this season.

Gardner is another young Jets star who hasn’t had his best season. He will likely miss Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. Gardner, the 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, does not have an interception this season.

Mosley, a five-time Pro Bowler, is out with a neck injury. His season is likely over with his IR designation. He’s only played in four games this season, which explains why the Jets’ defense hasn’t lived up to expectations.

The Jets have been down for most of the season, and their streak without a playoff berth will reach 14 seasons. It’s the longest drought in the NFL. Being without three of their stars on Sunday is unlikely to help turn around their miserable season.
