The Bowling Green Falcons and the Aquinas College Saints will face off for some holiday cheer at 3 p.m. ET Monday at the Stroh Center. These two teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable losses in their previous matches.
Bowling Green heads into the game after suffering its biggest loss since February 11 on Saturday. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of a punch in the gut 93-68 against St. Thomas. The Falcons were in a tough spot after the first half, already up 46-20.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Javontae Campbell, who scored 18 points to go along with six rebounds and four steals. He’s been hot recently, throwing four or more interceptions the last three times he’s played.
Bowling Green struggled to work together and finished the game with just five assists. This is the fewest assists they have managed all season.
Meanwhile, Aquinas College was unable to capitalize on its home-court advantage in its season opener. They suffered a crushing 93-69 loss to Central Michigan on December 5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday’s game: Bowling Green has made it easy to make deep shots this year, averaging 8.8 threes per game. However, it’s not like Aquinas College struggles in this department, as they have an average of 10. Given these competing forces, it will be interesting to see how their matchup plays out.
Bowling Green’s loss ended a three-game home winning streak and dropped them to 4-7. As for Aquinas College, their loss dropped their record to 0-1.
