What you need to know
Nets fans have better hope that the team plays a hell of a game on Sunday, because the odds are decidedly against them. Their road trip will continue as they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at 7 p.m. ET at the Paycom Center. Since both teams suffered a loss in their last match, they both have a little more motivation heading into this match.
The Nets are headed into this one after bettors pegged last week’s low/sub-low at 216.5, but even that proved too high. They were a bucket away from victory on Friday and fell 102-101 to the Lakers.
Meanwhile, after a four-game winning streak, the Thunder’s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They suffered a 106-98 hit in the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. This game marked Oklahoma City’s lowest scoring game so far this season.
Even though they lost, the Thunder broke the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outscored their opponents in this department as the Mavericks only knocked out six.
Brooklyn has been on a rocky road recently after losing seven of their last eight games, which took a major dent in their 14-28 record this season. As for Oklahoma City, their loss ended a three-game road winning streak and improved them to 34-7.
The Nets beat the Thunder 124-115 in their last game in January 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Nets since the team won’t have home court advantage this time around. We’ll see if the change of location makes a difference.
