Yuvraj Sandhu first Indian at T-23 in Taiwan
Yuvraj Sandhu, who had a great start to the week, finished as the top Indian tied for 23rd after closing it with a 3-under 69 at the Yeangder TPC in Chinese Taipei.

Chanmari FC continued to dazzle in the I-League 3 play-offs as they won their third match on the trot at the Kalyani Stadium on Sunday.
The 2-1 victory against Abbas Union took the Mizoram team to nine points from three Group B matches and ensured their qualification for the I-League 2, 2024-25.
In I-League 3, 10 teams have been divided into two groups of five each and are played in a single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will get promotion to I-League 2 2024-25. The two group winners will play in the final to be crowned I-League 3 champions.
Chanmari, who also won four consecutive matches in qualifying, scored first in the 33rd minute through KC Malsawmzuala. Abbas Union, however, canceled out the lead within five minutes through Krishna Soren. In the second half, Malsawmzuala scored the winning goal for Chanmari in the 56th minute.

VP Suhair returns to Gokulam Kerala FC for I-League Push

Arjun Maini finishes third in DTM race from first pole position
Arjun Maini finished third in the inaugural DTM race at the Red Bull Ring after becoming the first Indian to take pole position in the sports car series.
After numerous changes at the top of the timing sheet, it was the Mercedes-AMG driver who kept his cool in Saturday morning’s session and set the fastest time of 1:30.128 minutes on his final lap.
In the first race, Maini finished third behind winner Mirko Bortolotti and Maro Engel.
“It was really crazy, because my radio wasn’t working so I didn’t know the outcome at first. I tried to see the times on the screens around the track. But they were too far away.
“Pole position is incredible. I can enjoy the moment for a few hours, until the start of the race,” said Maini after her great performance in Spielberg.
The DTM grid is a highly competitive grid of 20 drivers representing all manufacturers Mercedes AMG, BMW, Audi, McLaren, Ferrari, Porshe and Lamborghini.

Top seeds Laxmi Dandu and Dheeraj KS reached the qualifying final of the 29th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship in their respective categories at the DLTA Complex in New Delhi on Sunday.
Telangana’s Laxmi started the second round match of the women’s singles category on top after securing a bye in the first round. She took the lead in the first set and then recorded a 6-2, 6-0 straight-sets victory over Mahi Trivedi of Gujarat. She will now face Tamil Nadu’s Vitula Velumani for a place in the main draw.
Dheeraj of Tamil Nadu continued his winning streak in the tournament and advanced to the final of the qualifiers after defeating Pranav Korade of Maharashtra in a three-set thriller by 6-3, 3-6 (10-8). The top seed started the match on a positive note and quickly took a two-game lead before winning the first set.
However, Pranav made a marvelous comeback in the second set and won it by 6-3 to force the contest in the third set which went to a tiebreaker. The Tamil Nadu player kept his cool and cruised to victory by 10-8 to advance to the final where he will face Madhya Pradesh’s Yash Yadav.
In the boys under-18 category, top seed Ojas Mehlawat of Delhi beat Parag Jain 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets to qualify for the final where he will face Vaibhav Kr Charotia of Uttar Pradesh.
Haryana’s Dhatri Dave qualified for the main draw of the U-18 girls category after beating Maharastra’s Shreya Pathare 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets. Second seed Pal Upadhyay of Gujarat also qualified for the main draw of the event with a thrilling 6-3, 5-7 (10-4) victory over Haryana’s Snigdha Ruhil.
The finals will be played later, while the main draw will take place from September 30 to October 5. The qualifying matches and main draw matches for boys and girls under-16 and under-14 will be played from October 5 to 12.

ITF women’s tennis tournament: Rutuja Bhosale in doubles final

Sujin and Vaghela reach joint second place in the world junior blind chess rankings
India’s Rahul Vaghela and John Harris Sujin moved to joint second place with quick wins in the men’s section of the Junior and Women’s World Chess Championship for the Blind and Visually Impaired here on Sunday.
Vaghela (1.5 points) beat compatriot Omkar Sameer, while Sujin (1.5 points) beat fellow Indian Rahul Sahani in the second round.
Polish Racis Michal leads the standings with two points and on this day he was ahead of his compatriot Fabian Spionkowski.
