Following his loss to undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the main event of Saturday Night’s Main Event, Kevin Owens not only sent the champion out of the arena on a stretcher following a piledriver , but also tried to steal the historic winged eagle championship. Rhodes, who has expressed his desire to use the championship for years, was only able to wear the belt one night and was celebrating with it in the ring after his victory.
After hitting the piledriver, Owens won the championship and walked up the ramp to the stage, where he was confronted by Paul “Triple H” Levesque. Video published on X (formerly Twitter) shows Owens fighting on stage with Triple H as he tried to take the championship from behind. Triple H intercepted him and snatched the title. They clashed and Triple H pushed Owens several times before an official got involved. According to PWInsiderTriple H won the championship after Owens was taken to the back. WWE then released their own X video.
