Scenarios
Manchester City: This season was not happy with the plan for Manchester City at all, so much so that Pep Guardiola has already admitted that the Champions League was out of reach for them at this stage. This does not mean that City did nothing to change things, however – the club spent more than $ 200 million in the winter transfer window to refresh the team, and will finally have the chance to deploy a New look in Tuesday’s match against Real Madrid.
City added new players in several key positions, including midfielder Nico Gonzalez and striker Omar Marmoush. Gonzalez should help, if not entirely to solve, the midfielder’s emissions in the city while the winner of Ballon d’Or Rodri continues to recover from an LCA tear, while Marmoush will contribute to offensive production after the Departure from Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden’s inability to repeat the shape of last season. It will probably be a fire test for a new version of Manchester City, however – Guardiola’s refresh team did not have many representatives together, adding another layer of intrigue to a pair of brand games that could define the city of City season.
Real Madrid: Things have behaved better for Real Madrid than for Manchester City, but it is not exactly an easy season for the reigning European champions. Los Blancos is dealing with an injury crisis that has focused all season, now leaving them without the first choice center Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao for a pair of very consecutive matches. Aurelien Tchouameni, a natural midfielder, and Raul Asencio, a 21-year-old with only 21 appearances for the first time, should start on Tuesday after playing a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid this weekend.
The burden of winning a victory, as always, will probably fall towards the star offensive of Real Madrid. The Kylian Mbappe Quartet, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham always delivers at a high rate – each has 10 goals or more all competitions this season, and Mbappe leads the pack with 23 during his first season with the club. There is a reasonable argument to argue that Real Madrid has still not maximized their attack power. They are used to being useless and took 23 shots on Saturday but only scored 1.72 goals expected. What version of the Madrid attack appears on Tuesday will be a big question, and perhaps the one that defines equality.
Projected lines
Manchester City: Orth, nuns, akones, stones, garden, silva, consistency, fode, mothers, savior, haaland
Real Madrid: Courtois, Vazquez, Tchouameni, Asencio, Garcia, Valverde, Ceballos, Roddrygo, Bellingham, Vinicius, Mbape Mbape
Prediction
Given the top shape of the two teams, it is difficult to know in which direction Tuesday’s match will bow. The new arrivals of the city could help improve the fortune of the team, but finding a real advantage on Madrid could be a too big task in the first leg, so a dead end could be in the cards. Take: Manchester City 1, Real Madrid 1
