The maternal grandmother and maternal uncle of Paris Olympic medalist shooter Manu Bhaker died in a road accident in Haryana’s Bhiwani on Sunday, police said. The accident took place on the Mahendragarh bypass road in Charkhi Dadri area when a car hit their scooter, officials said. Both died on the spot and the driver of the car fled after the accident, said assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Suresh Kumar. He said the victims have been identified as Manu Bhaker’s grandmother Savitri Devi (70) and his maternal uncle Yudhveer (50), who worked as a driver on the roads of Haryana.
Kumar said the bodies had been sent for post-mortem and efforts were on to arrest the driver of the car.
