WWE is gearing up for a historic night Monday when its flagship show, “WWE Raw,” debuts on Netflix, becoming the first-ever show to air weekly on the service. “Raw” color commentator Pat McAfee hosted his show, “The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN live from the Inuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, where “Raw” will air. McAfee had fellow red brand commentator Michael Cole with him on the show before “Raw,” and Cole explained that it was an emotional day for everyone behind the scenes, and he had just returned from a production meeting for the series.
“Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, our head of content, gave us a lovely speech and he’s really excited. Very emotional, as we all are,” Cole explained. “It’s a game changer. Not just for pro wrestling and sports entertainment, it’s a game changer for all entertainment. We’re going to become the first show to stream live every week on Netflix. Obviously we talked about the NFL, We’re talking about the Tyson/Paul fight, it’s a game changer for entertainment at all levels.”
WWE released the Cold Open ahead of the show, featuring a look at wrestling history, narrated by Lévesque. The video features WWE and WCW legends like Dusty Rhodes, Shawn Michaels and Cody Rhodes. Historic streaming debut of “Raw” will feature must-see matches including CM Punk vs. Seth “Freakin'” Rollins, Solo Sikoa vs. Roman Reigns in a tribal fighting match and Rhea Ripley vs. Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in a Last Woman Standing. Match. WWE legends will also be at the show, including future Hall of Famer John Cena, as he kicks off his 2025 retirement tour at the show.
