“WWE SmackDown” star Michin holds the unique distinction of being the only woman to compete for not one, but two inaugural WWE Championship matches this year. The first took place at “WWE NXT” Battleground when she and five other women fought for the NXT North American Women’s Championship in a ladder match. On WWE Saturday Night Main Event, Michin then faced Chelsea Green for the United States Women’s Championship. During a recent appearance on “Casual Conversations with The Classic”, Michin shared her perspective on being placed in these similar positions.
“Well, first of all, in 2025, I’m going to win a championship,” Michin said. “I don’t care what people are going to say, like that’s going to be my goal for 2025. But to be placed in these positions, it actually means a lot to me.”
In both cases, Michin failed to win the title. That didn’t stop her from targeting the inaugural champions, as evidenced by her warning Green to “sleep with one eye open” following her United States Women’s Championship victory at WWE SNME. Likewise, Michin later challenged Kelani Jordan, the first-ever NXT North American Women’s Champion, for her title, albeit unsuccessfully, on a June 2024 episode of “NXT.”
Trust is the key between Michin and Chelsea Green
Behind the scenes, Michin maintains a lot of respect for Green, as they have shared locker rooms in WWE, TNA Wrestling and the independent circuit. This respect, in addition to trust, was later shown when she and Green were also put in charge of the first-ever women’s Dumpster Match in WWE history.
“The dumpster was a lot smaller than I thought,” Michin said. “So when I saw it, I was like, oh my God, Chelsea might hit her head and that’s not what I want to do to her. But I think because Chelsea and I have this (relationship ).We joke around all the time because we I can communicate with each other without even speaking, which is crazy, but that’s how our story was formed. glad it was with Chelsea because we both trust each other to the point where we’re like, ‘Yeah, you can. Throw me in there little old dumpster. I know you’re not going to hit my head.'”
The Dumpster Match between Michin and Green took place on the October 4 episode of “SmackDown”. Green put up a valiant effort, even delivering unreleased video from coast to coast, but ultimately it wasn’t enough to avoid the powerbomb that sent her crashing through a table and into the dumpster for Michin’s victory. The two, of course, met again on WWE Saturday Night Main Event, with Green tying the score in the latest episode of their rivalry.
