Here is a chance to look at some additional statistics and thoughts that did not make the first thoughts or the story of the game after the Missouri match with Kentucky.
The offensive still works, although it does not work as well
The Tigers have reached 80 points once again, extending the longest series of program conference matches reaching this brand at eight.
It is an incredibly impressive feat.
I will not use last year as an example of many, and I think it’s reasonable, but let’s look back the 2022-23 sec season.
The Tigers have scored 80 points nine times against the dry opponents this season, including the last three games of the regular season. But three games were the longest sequence, they also had a sequence of two games mixed in a few weeks earlier.
Last season, the Tigers reached 80 points in conference matches twice (I know I just said that I was not going to do that, but good).
The tigers have not scored 90 points against an opponent of the conference in one or the other Dennis Gates“The first two years in Columbia.
This year, they reached 80 in 14 conference games, including the last eight of the regular season, arrived at 90 times, succeeded 100 twice and hit 110 once.
The match with Kentucky was about as poor as the offensive watched for weeks and the tigers have always collected 83 points. It was helped because the Kentucky removed the defensive pressure at the end of the match to avoid faults, but it is always an impressive brand that leaves the tigers with an average of 90.6 points per game during their last conference game.
Mark Mitchell and Warrick brands
These two led the offensive from afar on Saturday with Mitchell marking 22 and Warrick by adding 17 in just 14 minutes played.
Mitchell’s 22 points have scored the ninth time this season, he led the tigers by scoring, breaking equality with Grill And Tamar Bates. The junior striker (I know that his card below said in the second year, for any reason, we have a lot of trouble solving this problem), is on average 20 points per game in the last eight games, which leads the offensive success of the Missouri at the end of the season.
Warrick has reached double figures for the ninth time this season and equaled it for its second most marked point in a match this year. He had 19 against Auburn in 17 minutes played and 17 against Lindenwood in 26 minutes.
The offensive does not always work very well around him when he is, but Warrick is one of the best pure scorers I have seen in university basketball, the way he is able to create his own plan is incredible.
Ant Robinson, Tamar Bates and Caleb Grill
These three are the main reason why the offensive did not seem very good on Saturday.
I do not like Harping on specific players, but when two of your runners and your top scorer combine to pull 6 out of 20 for 18 points and only 2 out of 11 of 3, it is a recipe for disaster.
Robinson played well at the start of the match and played well outside the shot (five rebounds, three assists), but Bates somewhat disappeared the handful of past matches and Grill experienced a night’s leave.
Bates scored only eight points, according to the seven against which he had Oklahola. He put 16 against Vander and 11 against South CarolinaBut only nine in the match with Arkansa.
He has not increased his season average since he scored 16 points against Texas A & M To reach 14.0 points per game this year.
If these three are in trouble, the tigers will probably not win. Even if these three have just set up beautiful games, that does not spend success for the Missouri.
The tigers will go where these three will lead them the rest of the path.
Home record
The Tigers did not end up establishing the record of the program for home victories in a season, but they finished at 18-2, which links the school record from 2008 to 2009.
Adding this football went 7-0 at home this year and it is a brand of 25-2 playing in Columbia in the two major sports.
Fans have obtained an incredible show at Fauot Field and Mizzou Arena this school year. I think it is important to remember that even if the end of the regular basketball season and that the football season did not go very well that people would have liked, the two were fantastic this year and brought a lot of joy to the people who were able to attend matches.
It is now time to bring more joy to those who look at the house during the dry and NCAA tournaments.
