Week 15 was marked by two major confrontations. In the first, the Eagles beat the Steelers, 27-13. Jalen Hurts threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns. AJ Brown had eight receptions for 110 yards, while DeVonta Smith caught 11 passes for 109 yards. Each receiver scored a TD.
Pittsburgh finished the final 10:29 minutes of the game with 21 plays on its final possession.
In what many considered a Super Bowl preview, the Bills won a shootout against the Lions, 48-35. As expected, Buffalo had no trouble scoring on a battered and undermanned Detroit defense.
Josh Allen threw for 362 yards with two touchdowns and also rushed for two scores. James Cook also ran for two touchdowns with his 105 rushing yards. Jared Goff rushed for 494 yards and five passing touchdowns and Amon-Ra St. Brown caught 14 passes for 93 yards. But the Lions had to play catch-up after falling behind 14-0 and were never able to recover.
Detroit falls to 12-2 and is now tied with the Eagles for the best record in the NFC. The Vikings could match them Monday night with a win against the Bears.
The Broncos also strengthened their playoff position with a 31–13 victory over the Colts, overcoming three Bo Nix interceptions. And the Buccaneers may have wrapped up the NFC South with a 40-17 win over the Chargers, led by Baker Mayfield throwing four TD passes.
