NHL power index: Sidney Crosby remains hot for frozen penguins, the stars Wyatt Johnston Records Trick

Welcome to the In the NHL Power Star index: a weekly gauge from players who control a substantial buzz around the league. When a player is included on this list, it may not be a good thing – it means that it captures a large quantity of the attention of the hockey world.

These players are not in a particular order with regard to the amount of buzz they create. We will revisit the Star Power Index every week throughout the regular season.

Sidney Crosby may be in the last part of his career, but the Pittsburgh Penguins captain remains a large offensive producer.

Crosby recorded a three-game sequence, notably by scoring the prolonger winner during the 3-2 victory on Wednesday against Utah Hockey Club. He also scored Crosby’s fourth goal in his last five games.

During the Wednesday competition, the winning goal of Crosby gave him a goal and an aid in the evening, scoring the 207th multi-point performance of his In the NHL career.

Wyatt Johnston ends the most productive month of the season because he accumulated at will.

The Dallas stars striker collected 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in January. Johnston even managed to record a hat round during Tuesday 4-3 victory against the Golden Knights of Vegas.

The stars followed the Golden Knights 3-1 when Johnston broke out with a natural hat trick of three consecutive goals. Johnston even scored the winner of the match in overtime to raise Dallas to a victory on the road.

Johnston became the youngest player (21 years, 259 days) in the history of the team to mark a natural hat trick, ahead of his teammate Tyler Seguin (21 years, 310 days on December 7, 2013).

At 5:04 am from the second period, the attackers Roope Hintz were able to intercept a pass in its own area and started the rush down the ice. Hughes collected two assists in the 5-2 Monday victory against the Blues of St. Louis. In doing so, he became the first defender in the history of the franchise to record his 100th multi-point match.

Hughes also marked his 77th multi-assistant career match in the process, binding Thomas Gradin for the fourth largest number in the history of the team. Now, Hughes only follows Henrik SEDIN (181), Daniel SEDIN (107) and Stan Smyl (79) for the most career multi-assistant games in the history of the Canucks.

Hughes did not take long to start his night on the right foot. At just 2:52 am in the competition on Monday, striker Jake Debrusk managed to put the free washer and Hughes picked it up near his own goal line. Hughes then rugged the ice in the Blues area, where he passed the washer through the slit for Conor Garland for the goal of Bang-Bang.

Hughes obtained his second main assistance from the match at 8:26 am from the second period when the huns were being powerful. The veteran defender had the washer in his own area and sent a rocket to pass the length of the ice to his teammate JT Miller. Miller managed to enter the escape alone and took a shot in front of the goalkeeper of Blues Jordan Binnington.

On Friday, Hughes leads all the NHL defenders in points (58) while he has an advantage of two points on Makar hold of the Colorado avalanche. His 44 assists also lead all the NHL Blue-Liners after having totaled four assists in his last two games.

Connor Hellebuyck has established himself as one of the first NHL goalkeepers. The goalkeeper of the Winnipeg jets collected a file of 4-0-0, a goal-key 1.75 and a percentage of stops of .930 in his last four departures. The goalkeeper of American origin has granted two or less goals in each of these four competitions.

More recently, Hellebuyck withdrew 27 of the 29 shots he faced during a 6-2 victory against Boston Bruins on Thursday. He also scored the eighth victory for Hellebuyck in his last nine games.

Hellebuyck leads all NHL’s goalkeepers in Wins (32), the goals-avant-Middle, 2.00) and the percentage of stops (.927). According to Money Puck, Hellebuyck records a percentage of .967 stops when he faces unlissed shots this season, ranking first among the eligible guards.

Friday, the jets lead the NHL in points (75) and are looking to make a potential race at the Stanley Cup. If Hellebuyck continues to provide a coherent presence between the pipes, Winnipeg can certainly be one of the best contenders when the Stanley Cup qualifying series start.
