Bittle Nate’s time at Oregon Could last one more season – if the big man wants to stay.

Ducks basketball coach Dana Altman said on Friday that the senior center had obtained a fifth admissibility season by the NCAA to compensate for his 2023-24 season when he only played five games due to an injury and a disease.

The 7 feet of Central Point and the old 5-star recruit which joined the Ducks in 2021-20 South California to Matthew Knight Arena. He also ranked second in the Big Ten conference with 58 blocks and an average of 2.07 per game.

Bittle was one of the main reasons why the Ducks (20-8, 9-8 Big Ten) won four games in a row. Two of his five double-doubles have occurred in the last three games and he has an average of 22 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in the last two games, including a performance of 23 points in career in the last Oregon match-a victory in prolongation against then-no. 11 Wisconsin February 22.

Bittle, 21, could potentially enter the draft of the NBA at the end of the season. But the door is wide open to return to Oregon.

“I hope he wants to come back,” said Altman. “I want guys who want to be here, so I hope Nathan will want to come back. This is a large part of our program. … Our staff wants him to come back, that’s for sure. It was great to work with it and we crossed ups and downs with injuries and diseases to make it stronger. He is someone on which we really relied this year. »»

Altman said the Ducks also asked for an exemption from the second year striker Mookie Cook, who was limited to five games in the first year last season due to an injury, but no NCAA decision was made.

The Ducks could also recover Jadrian Tracey for another season. The senior goalkeeper can take advantage of the recent NCAA decision which grants the players in 2025-26 to players who contributed for at least one season to the Junior College. Tracey played Florida Southwestern State College in 2022-2023 before transferring to Oregon.
