Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida – PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan did his best to postpone questions concerning the organizational negotiations of the organization with the financial donors of Liv Golf, the public investment fund of Saudi Arabia, during a press conference on Tuesday before the 2025 players’ championship. While Monahan kept his cards near the vest, he said that the Pga Tour would be placed Adopt certain aspects of LIV golf in order to bring together both parties.
“When you are in the midst of complex negotiations, especially when you can be close to a breakthrough, there are flows and flows in the discussion,” said Monahan. “The most important thing is the mutual respect that we have built in the past two years. We appreciate the innovative vision of Yasir (al-Rummayyan), and we can see a future where we welcome it on our board of directors and work together to advance the world game.
“As part of our negotiations, we believe that there is room to integrate important aspects of LIV golf in the PGA Tour platform. We do everything we can to collect the two parties.”
Monahan – With the members of the PGA Tour Tiger Woods and Adam Scott – participated in a four -hour working session with President Donald Trump and Al -Rummayyan, the Governor of the PIF a few weeks ago. The commissioner has since been complementary to the president and his desire to help the agreement, which may include distant potential roadblocks presented by the United States Ministry of Justice.

Monahan confirmed that the next meeting had not yet been scheduled.
Although there seems to be progress in these discussions, one of the main discussion points between the two leagues remains the place of the golf team at the PGA Tour level. Liv Golf is currently made up of 13 teams held and operated by captains such as Phil Mickelson and Bryson Dechambeau. Whether these squads or simply the concept of team golf course continue – on the basis of the form that a unification between visits – remains a question without definitive response.
“We will not integrate (integrate the golf liv) in a way that decreases the strength of our platform or the very real momentum that we have with our fans and our partners,” said Monahan. “So, while we have deleted some obstacles, others remain. But like our fans, we always share the same sense of urgency to resolve. Our team is fully committed to reunification.
“The only agreement we regret is the one that compromises the essence of what makes the golf game and the PGA Tour so exceptional.”
