The terrible form of Manchester United this season continued as it collapsed for a 2-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday.
Despite United continuing a fourth successive victory in all competitions, Palace was much the best side in the first half at Old Trafford, passing several chances of capitalizing on its superiority.
The visitor made an account after 64 minutes, Jean-Philippe Mateta reacting first after the ball came out of the crossbar to give his team a deserved lead.
United increased the searching for an equalizer but lacked ideas, Mateta condemning the hosts to a seventh ligue at home this quarter with an end of the second, helping palace to climb over United 13th in United 12th in the classification.
United entered the Sunday meeting on the back of his best race under the new manager Ruben Amorim, after obtaining a third successive victory in all competitions at Steaua Burahetst on Thursday.
Amorim, however, has not yet tasted consecutive victories of the League since he took charge at the end of November. No director united since Tommy Docherty in 1972-1973 had to wait so long to get there.
After a pre-match tribute to those who died in the Munich Air disaster 67 years ago, Kobbie Mainoo, playing in the role of unknown central attacker, got closer to giving United the perfect start, Stronging the post with a deflected shot.

Palace, in the final fit after winning four of its previous five on the road, looked more threatening from the start, defenders Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell going nearly an opening match.
The visitor continued to press, with Mateta denied by a brilliant backup of Andre Onana as half-time approaches.
Need an improvement after having failed again to score in the first half of a championship match – now 18 relentless opening periods in 24 this season – United has advanced after the break.
The goalkeeper of the Palais Dean Henderson was finally called to action, refusing to Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte with intelligent stops, but the finish near Mateta, after the head of Maxence Lacroix struck the crossbar, was this that the effort of visitors has deserved.
For all its pressure, the United Openings failed to materialize, Mateta ending a counter of the palace in the 89th minute to send the supporters outside in rapture.
