Randy Orton returned to attack Kevin Owens after his unauthorized match against Sami Zayn at WWE Elimination Chamber.
Owens and Zayn fought a brutal affair, a case that saw trash, ringtones, tables and chairs used, including a chair wrapped in barbed wire. The fight also required three separate referees, the first dragged by Owens in a kick from Helluva and was removed by Owens after Zayn was expelled from a spindle attempt.
Producer Pete Williams emerged at the edge of the ring by pleading with Owens to stop the attack, allowing Zayn to hit Helluva’s kick for a near fall. Zayn struck Owens twice in the back with the wired chair, sending her face first with a footing, before reaching a blue boost for a near fall. Zayn tried to knock on Helluva’s kick again, only to be taken with a pop-up electric bomb, sending him to ride outside by hugging the neck. Owens then followed with several electric bombs on the ring deck before taking it in the ring for the decisive fall.
Owens was escorted far from the scene after the match, but he bypassed to go beyond security, exhibiting concrete and trying to drive a lifeless zayn on it. It was at this moment that Orton’s music struck to report his return, meeting the man who put him away in the ring for a fight and a subsequent RKO. Orton caught a chair and sought to use it on Owens, only to drop it and set up for the kick, only to be stopped by officials while Owens withdrew. Orton closed the segment delivering several RKOS to these officials and looking at the Wrestlemania panel.
