How does the support work?
From this season, there is no draw to create the lights in the quarter-final and semi-finals. Everything was set by the final positions of the league (see more below), as well as the limited prints to place the teams in the support.
This means that each team now knows their opponents of possibilities – and to whom they cannot appear – to the final.
The upper half of the round support of the direct elimination playoffs seems stronger, with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, PSG and Real Madrid.
Arsenal would play the winners of the Madrid derby in the quarter -finals,
The lower half, on paper, seems much lower with Barcelona the team off competition.
So there is no protection against the country?
Correct. Clubs in the same country can play each other from the turn of the playoffs. This is why we have a Madrid derby in the round of 16.

Why is it important where you finished in the table?
The investments of the league have created direct elimination support, and the new “sowing” system means that the most placed teams cannot compete before the last stages of the direct elimination Tour.
For example, if we look at the final table, Liverpool and Barcelona finished first and second and cannot play each other before the final. The third and fourth teams – Arsenal and Interazonal – cannot play Liverpool or Barcelona to the semi -finals.
However, the value of being placed in the table was complicated by European bad seasons for Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, which became unexpected of possible adversaries earlier in direct elimination towers.
Indeed, with Man City finishing the 22nd row, he created a heavy tie in the turn of the playoffs because they had to face 11th place to read Madrid.
PSG, on the other hand, must come up against one or the other Liverpool in the round of 16.
