Ruben Amorim remains discreet about Alejandro Garnacho's exit speech: "Let's see"

Ruben Amorim refused to rule out the possibility that Alexandre Garnacho could leave Manchester United before the transfer deadline.

The 20-year-old is heavily linked with an exit this month amid interest from Napoli and Chelsea.

He impressed in the 2-1 UEFA Europa League win over Rangers on Thursday. But when asked afterwards if this was the Argentine’s last match at Old Trafford, Amorim did nothing to curb speculation about his future.

“I’m focused on the games and he’s there,” Amorim said.

“He’s a Manchester United player. He was very important for us today and we’ll see in the coming days.”

Sources have told ESPN that United are not forcing Garnacho to leave the club. However, their financial situation means a realistic offer for any senior player will be considered. Receiving remuneration for Garnacho – an academy graduate – would be a bonus for United as it counts as pure profit compared to complying with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

“I think he’s improving in all aspects of the game,” Amorim said.

“You can see him up to 90 minutes, he is always there to recover and help, sometimes showing some frustration and that’s good because he wants more. I think he has the potential to be much better in all situations of the game. What I can say is he understood what I was trying to do, it was very clear, I just want to help them but in the end, they are the ones doing the work. “
