3rd quarter report

The Lakers are on the road but don’t seem to be in any worse shape. Sitting on a score of 86-80, they appear to be the better team, but there is still a quarter to play.

If the Lakers continue to play like this, they will reach their 16-12 record in no time. On the other hand, the Kings will have to settle for a 13-16 record unless they turn things around (and quickly).

What you need to know

The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Sacramento Kings in a holiday battle at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday at Golden 1 Center. The Lakers pulled off a surprise victory in their last outing and will hope to do so once again against the 6-point favorite Kings.

The Lakers are heading into this one after bettors pegged last week’s low/under at 230, but even that proved too high. They came away with a 113-100 victory over the Kings on Thursday. This victory made Los Angeles two consecutive victories.

Austin Reaves and Anthony Davis were among the Lakers’ main playmakers as the former had 25 points plus five assists and five rebounds and the latter had a double-double with 21 points and 20 rebounds. Additionally, Davis also racked up eight offensive rebounds, his most since March.

The Lakers broke the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. This strong performance was nothing new for the team: they have now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Los Angeles’ victory ended a four-game road drought and puts them at 15-12. As for Sacramento, this is the second loss in a row for them and drops their season record to 13-15.
