Spurs fans attending Wednesday’s game may be disappointed given the experts’ predictions. They will play in front of their home fans against the Memphis Grizzlies at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Frost Bank Center. The Grizzlies suffered a loss in their last game and will look to turn things around against the Spurs, who are coming off a win.
The Spurs will bounce back in Wednesday’s game after (finally) beating the Lakers, against whom they had gone 1-8 in their previous nine meetings. Everything went in the Spurs’ favor against the Lakers on Monday as the Spurs took a 126-102 victory. This victory was a breath of fresh air for San Antonio as it ended its three-game losing streak.
The game pitted two of the most dominant centers in the league, Victor Wembanyama and Anthony Davis. Wembanyama had a solid game and made 10 of 17 on his way to 23 points with eight rebounds and five assists. Meanwhile, Davis was in a losing streak, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies suffered their closest defeat since November 4, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly fell to the Rockets by a score of 120-118. Memphis recently struggled against Houston, as it was their third straight losing game.
The Spurs will need to contain Desmond Bane as he made an impact in the Grizzlies’ last game. He went 9 of 13 en route to 25 points.
The Grizzlies struggled to work together and finished the game with just 15 assists. Unfortunately, this is becoming a trend for them; They averaged 30.5 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last five matchups, they’ve fallen to just 22.4 per game.
Memphis’ record now stands at 25-15. As for San Antonio, the victory brought them back into a tie at 19-19.
While only Spurs took care of their fans in their last match, both teams kept punters happy by covering the spread. Looking ahead, the Grizzlies should win a close contest, except for the buzzers.
