WrestleMania 24 provided fans with many memorable moments, including Snoop Dogg stepping into the ring to clothesline Santino Marella. Surprisingly hilarious, this interaction sealed Snoop’s place in WWE history for many. The behind-the-scenes story of this moment might be even more entertaining, however.
Marella revealed her experience working with the rapper ahead of their WrestleMania spot on “No Name Wrestling Podcast“, and there was a completely new and unique warm-up for their segment.
“They’re like, ‘Yeah, can you please go to Snoop Dogg’s bus and, you know, talk about what you’re going to do later?'” Marella said. “And when I get on the bus, of course, I’m greeted with a blunt. And I’m like, okay, you know it’s Snoop Dogg, right? You’re not going to say no .So anyway, I smoked with him I don’t know what kind of weed it is, but I was in the best mood ever. It was really euphoric and uplifting.
Marella noted how much he appreciated Snoop’s professionalism, which made working with him all the more enjoyable as he found it both smooth and enjoyable.
“Working with Snoop, he’s a real pro,” he said. “We did something (and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s good.’) He said, ‘Are you sure? We can do it again.’ Like, he wanted to make sure they were completely happy and he was willing to do it over and over again until it was perfect. I was really impressed with his work ethic, and he completely fucked up my clothes.”
Marella is still involved in wrestling, serving as Director of Authority in TNA, and recently had an altercation with her daughter, Ariana Grace of “NXT,” at Victory Road.
