It took two decades, some name changes and three WWE stays, but finally, Shawn Spears can be called Champion. The longtime veteran beat Tony of Angelo to become a new NXT North-American champion in a main chaotic event, who saw Spears enjoy the fight between Angelo’s family and the allies of Spears Izzy Dame, Niko Vance and Brooks Jensen to send Angelo to crash into the Spears steel chair to settle his victory.
These shady tactics were mentioned almost immediately when Spears was interviewed by a Kelly Kincaid back in an exclusive interview for X. And in the night of his biggest WWE triumph, an ardent Spears was not going to take the accusations of Kincaid that he only won because D’Angelo suffered an injury.
