New Orleans – The receiver of Kansas City chiefs, Deandre Hopkins, has had an incredible career in the National Football League – the one that has seen the sea collect more than 100 receptions in four different seasons, compiling 984 catches for 12 965 yards and 83 affected over a 13 years old.
The only thing that has alluded it in what is undoubtedly a professional career in the temple of fame of football is an appearance in the Super bowlBut it will end on Sunday when the chiefs will face the Eagles of Philadelphia at the Superdome Caesars in New Orleans.
However, this moment of career definition may never have taken place without an incident earlier this season.
While Hopkins was a member of the Tennessee titans, he retired from a match in a defeat against the Buffalo Bills in a match in October of the 2024 season.
“There were a lot in the media saying that I got on the bench,” said Hopkins to the media gathered during the opening evening on Monday for the Super Bowl Lix at Caesars Superdome.
I was not a bench. This is the first time in my career where I said to myself: “Dude, I do not belong here on this field at the moment.” We did not win, no game was called for me, not that I am a player who ever needs the ball, but if I am on the field, I want to be included in something.
“So I got out of the game and I saw a lot in the media saying that I got on the bench and I let him go. The next day, I entered the Ran office (former director General of the Titans Ran Carthon) and I said to myself “I lose love for this game in this situation ‘and Ran said that he could see him in my eyes that I did not want to be here.’ ‘
The rest is in history while Carthon worked with Kansas City and Hopkins was exchanged to the chiefs a few days later. He can now present his talent on the biggest scene.
