Bloomington – Indiana basketball Goalkeeper Trey Galloway told journalists that “each season has their own challenges” after a 83-78 victory against Penn State at the Assembly Hall on Wednesday evening.
This season has presented more than most for the fifth year goalkeeper who is two shy games to beat the record of the Yogi Ferrell career program for most of the games played (137).
Galloway dipped in the admiration of fans in the last IU victories for hitting a series of clutch fire in the middle of an improbable turnaround that put the Hoosiers back on the bubble of the NCAA tournament.
Their resurgence gave Galloway the opportunity to write a very different final chapter to his career that the disappointing end which probably looks after the IU lost eight of the 10 games and he lost his starting job.

The Indiana basketball goalkeeper Trey Galloway faces adversity as a fifth senior year
Galloway opened the season by trying to come back in shape after undergoing an off -season knee surgery. He spent much of the summer to do packaging work while the new Hoosiers began to train together and were not allowed to contact full until the end of September.
Indiana coach Mike Woodson was careful about Galloway’s workload during the first month of the season and he was a non-factor when the team suffered setbacks at the start of the season in the Atlantis Battle 4 tournament with two-digit defeats against Louisville and Gonzaga.
He returned to the initial training for the last IU match in the Bahamas – a victory over Providence – but struck a rough patch in mid -inine who sent him back to the bench with IU by abandoning eight of the 10 games.
Galloway collected an average of 7.4 points and 2.9 reversals per game during this section while pulling only 39% on the field (21.1% on a 3 -point range). During the defeat of 94-69 of the IU against Illinois on January 14, fans fixed his difficulties and hooked him tirelessly when he missed a series of shots in the defeat of the eruption.
Woodson stayed in the corner of Galloway – he publicly supported him in his radio show and said that what the fans had done was “not well” – and gave him the starter report most of the nights when he left the bench.
“I never stopped believing in Trey,” Woodson said on Wednesday. “Trey was with me the longest. He supported a lot of shit from me. And I trust him. It does a lot of good things on the ground. Yeah, he makes mistakes. They all do it. I make mistakes.
“But at the end of the day, I know he will play hard and give 100% when he is there, and that’s all you can ask.”
The heroism of Trey Galloway, basketball guard of Indiana, takes up Hoosiers on the right track
Indiana fans at Assembly Hall offered Gallloway their full support against Penn State.
The building broke out when it struck 3 consecutive points with less than six minutes. It was a reaction similar to the ovation he obtained earlier in the week for hitting a 3 -point in the last minutes that crushed the hopes of Return from Purdue.
Galloway showed his own emotions on Wednesday.
He shouted to celebrate while his teammates assaulted him to Center runs after his late triple triples forced Psu coach Mike Rhoades to take a delay
“I think we knew that it is a heavy team that ends on the shortcomings,” said Galloway. “And I think we were going to be able to get open photos. And continue to shoot the ball with confidence. This is the most important thing we have somehow preached. »»
With Galloway in the starting formation, Indiana is 3-1 and pleads for an NCAA tournament offer.
He considerably improved the chemistry of the Hoosiers in attack as the main bearer – they ended the victory against Penn State with 24 assists on 29 goals on the field – while doing an average of 10.5 points and 6.3 assists in the last four games.
“I think that really to focus on how I can improve my team and improve every day is the greatest thing I have tried to do because everyone in our team must make sacrifices to make us succeed,” said Galloway about adversity. “Really buying the team and buying everyone is the greatest thing.”
This attitude was borrowed in the locker room and helped the team come together together to overthrow a lost season.
“I think we just have to keep remembering to cherish every moment because wins and losses, everything is special because you learn through all of this,” said Galloway. “I think I really cherished these moments because when it is finished, we will all miss it and it will be difficult to really understand what it meant to put this uniform and go to war with our brothers every day.”
