The Dallas cowboys revised their coach staff during the offseason, separating with Mike McCarthy and most of his assistants on both sides of the ball. One of the only exceptions, of course, was the former attacking coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who was rather promoted to head coach.
Schottenheimer left the organization for most of its own assistant hires, including its own attacking coordinator. The cowboys hired the former coach of the Arizona Cardinals, Klayton Adams, for this role.
Given his history, he should not surprise what Adams wants to see his offense, which he spoke to journalists earlier this week.
“The same thing I want from each player in attack, and it’s to create violence in the game,” said Adams. “Be aggressive, run, hit. I think each decision we take schematically needs to lean this direction. So, if there is a gray area, what will allow these guys to play more freely And to run and strike and be violent? “

It looks very much like the philosophy of a former offensive line coach if there was one.
For what it is worth, Dallas also brought a dedicated line coach, go out and get Conor Riley from the state of Kansas. Adams praised Riley, whose work included the development of the Cowboys interior line player – and the choice of third round of 2024 – Cooper Beebe.
“You can assess the attacking lines or any position group really when you assess what you think that a coach does, but nothing talks like the band,” said Adams. “One thing that I have always respected about Conor Riley over the years … The players play well.”
Cowboys desperately needed their offensive line to show improvement in 2025, because it was not up to last season. Maybe playing with more violence Adams wants to get out of the group in front will help them to coaval in 2024.
