Although The Undertaker is one of the most intimidating characters in WWE history, there is one particular thing that scares “The Deadman” more than anything. Earlier this year, The Undertaker revealed that he had a phobia of cucumbers due to a traumatic experience from his childhood. During a Questions and Answers for “Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway”he revealed that he ate too many cucumbers in one sitting when he was a child, which caused him to vomit excessively, leading him to feel nauseous even from the smell of the vegetable today.
“Let me have one in some sushi or something (if) you want to see some drama. Because every time I go to order sushi, I’ll ask for it. If there are cucumbers that are supposed to be in a roll or (something) I specifically ask ‘Can I get this without the cucumber?’ Usually (it’s) ‘Yeah, that’s no problem.'”
The Undertaker went into more detail about his cucumber phobia, where he shared a story about WWE Hall Of Famer Paul Bearer pranking him and secretly hiding the vegetable in his restaurant meal. “The Phenom” explained that Bearer was one of the few people to prank him, but trying to incorporate one of his biggest fears into a restaurant prank was enough to make The Undertaker seek revenge .
Several weeks later, The Undertaker and Bearer traveled to Seattle, where “Uncle Paul” said he desperately needed to use the bathroom. Although Bearer pointed out numerous gas stations and restaurants where they could stop to go to the bathroom, The Undertaker hilariously continued to pass by each location until they got closer to Seattle, leaving Bearer with a pee stain on his jeans.
The Undertaker’s wife and former WWE star Michelle McCool also opened up about his fear of cucumbers, explaining that he wouldn’t even allow the vegetable to be present in the house. However, she revealed that their daughter Kaia gets cucumbers for her birthday every year and often places them in her dad’s car or under his pillow.
