The temple of WWE renown, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, is one of the many legends of the struggle that has been guided towards a happier and healthier life thanks to the guru of positivity and its DDP colleague from the WWE Hall of Famer. In a new interview with Undertaker’s “Six feet under“Podcast, Roberts admitted that his relationship with DDP was fundamental to overcoming his drug addiction problems. Roberts relapsed after leaving the house of page, and returned to Dallas, categorical, that he had to be punished for his transgression.
“Shame had already started, so I was whipped … because as soon as I knew I was drunk … I wanted to punish myself,” said Roberts. “This is what is dangerous when you start to punish yourself … I knew where my place of security was and I knew he was not going to abandon me.”
Roberts says that the categorical support of DDP made him even more motivated to become sober, because he was no longer alone in his ups and downs. Roberts sometimes cared more about page feelings than his family.
“Whenever I defended myself, the pain was even more, because I did not condemn myself but I dropped my brother, who was going there and I was holding for myself, fighting for me and doing all the right things,” said Roberts. “I hated dropping him.”
Roberts is not the only wrestler page helped because page worked very hard to maintain the former WWE intercontinental champion and 2x Hall of Famer Scott Hall Sober, to various degrees of success, until Hall’s death in 2022.
